2008ano
All 2008 Murano models
come equipped with a standard 240-plus horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6
engine. The new Nissan Murano uses Nissans FF-L (front engine,
front-drive) platform, which it shares with the award-winning 2002 Altima.
The Murano will share the Altima SE, and 350Zs 3.5-liter V6, which
is good for at least 240 hp.
2008 performance features
include stability control or VDC, traction control, stabilizer bars,
4-wheel vented disc brakes with brake assist and Electronic Brake force
Distribution (EBD). To insure predictable handling and a comfortable
ride, Nissan utilizes 4-wheel independent suspension including a multi-link
rear suspension set up similar to that found on the Altima.
Bill Kirrane, vice
president and general manager of Nissan Division describes the Murano
this way: "The Nissan Murano is a vehicle that was developed, designed
and engineered specifically for the North American market. It represents
Nissans first entry into the crossover SUV segment, the fastest
growing segment in automotive history. Recognizing this early on, our
main objective was to develop a vehicle that truly stands out in the
class in terms of styling, performance, comfort, convenience and technologyoffering
unmatched levels of both fun and functionality."
