2008 Nissan Sentra SE-R

The Nissan Sentra
2008 SE-R is powered by a 165 hp with 175 lb-ft of torque. And in the
SE-R Spec V, a whopping 175 hp with 180 lb-ft of torque. A double-overhead-cam
and 4-valves-per-cylinder.
Nissan's Continuously
Variable Timing Control (CVTC) electronically measures throttle position,
vehicle speed and engine rpm, then adjusts the moment each valve breathes
in.
SE-R's sport-tuned
suspension firms up the shocks and springs, and, for flat maneuvering
through the curves and corners, stocks two fat stabilizer bars (22.0
mm in the front and 38.1 mm in the rear). To keep you from raiding the
aftermarket, we also plunked a front strut tower brace down right under
the hood. This rigid bar helps reduce chassis twist and maintain suspension
geometry through corners and over rough pavement. The SE-R Spec V ups
the ante with even stiffer bushings (polyurethane up front) and springs
so firm we had to ease up on shock damping just to compensate.
SE-R Spec V is the
helical limited-slip differential. Whether you're accelerating from
a dead stop or taking a tight corner, it directs all that willing power
straight to the asphalt. It automatically senses if either drive-wheel
is beginning to slip, then distributes power accordingly.
SE-R and SE-R Spec
V are equipped with "Second Generation" dual front air bags
with seat belt switches - designed to deploy with less force depending
on crash severity and seat belt usage, to help protect you and your
front passenger.
